Description of Cell Division:
By Tessa
Cell division is the body's way of creating new cells. These cells could be needed because the body is growing, like in children. In adults, it could be because these cells are too old and dying. There are two main processes of cell division. Mitosis is used to create cells for the purposes listed above, while meiosis is used to create sex cells- sperm in males and eggs in females. Mitosis is the process used to replicate cells for nearly every part of the body, while meiosis is a somewhat rare occurence. Each is very important for it's own specific task in creating cells.
